Students who have participated in at least two (2) in-person classes with The Mobile Body Yoga Project are qualified to participate in online classes. This requirement helps to ensure a safe approach to the practice - giving the instructor a basic familiarity with each student’s surface restrictions, and enabling the instructor to tailor the class to specific student needs.
Why Online?
Regular, consistent practice is important to maximize results.
Enjoy the Kaiut Method from the comfort of your home.
Maintain your practice between in-person sessions.
How does it work?
A Zoom link is provided when you sign up for a class. Unlike other classes, you practice by listening to specifically tailored cues – the instructor watches each student to ensure that instructions are clear and tailored to each person’s individual needs. Being able to see each student is critical to ensuring the safety and effectiveness of the Kaiut Method.
What do I need?
A computer or tablet with a camera and audio output. Video must be enabled for each student
Space and Equipment Requirements:
Quiet space without interruptions – your time is important and your practice requires you to be present in your body and mind throughout the class
Please ensure pets and children are safely occupied elsewhere to avoid distraction.
Wall space – room to lie on the floor with your legs up.
Mat space – yoga mat or a large towel
Bolster* space – bolster or pillows in a variety of shapes and sizes. [*Bolsters are provided as part of a specialized equipment package, available when you attend your first in-person “Pop-up” studio]
Arm space and elbow room – be sure you have room to extend your arms overhead and around you without touching anything in your room while lying on your mat with legs extended.
Sturdy chair
Yoga block (or books)
Yoga strap (or belt)
Blanket for comfort and/or extra support
Other misc. support items (e.g., rolled towels, extra yoga mats, rolled socks, etc)
Much of the class will be done lying or sitting on the floor, with some standing positions as well. The method works by finding restrictions - but in a way that allows you to rest in a position that touches the restriction so it can eventually be naturally dissolved. Learning to be able to be restful in each position is key to effecting results.
