About The Mobile Body Yoga Project
The Mobile Body Yoga Project supports students in developing a regular and consistent Kaiut Yoga practice with a flexible approach of in-person and online class offerings. Starting with in-person instruction in the Kaiut Yoga Method through “pop-up” studio programs, teacher and student gain an understanding of the method and how it integrates with the specific needs of the individual student. The “pop-up” programs can include a specialized equipment package for class and in-home use to support continuing practice through online classes. After building a foundation of in-person learning, students can move to online instruction to maintain a regular practice between in-person programs - in the comfort of their own home. If the schedule of live online classes doesn’t fit, students can opt to join a pre-recorded class. This approach is especially suited to students who migrate seasonally, travel frequently or those for whom regular access to a Kaiut studio is challenging.
About The Kaiut Yoga Method
The Kaiut Yoga Method safely approaches restrictions in joints to restore mobility and structure using the nervous system. Rather than focusing on the perfection of extreme poses, Kaiut Yoga focuses on functional poses that address the current state of each individual’s body. Poses are presented with individual variations to allow the nervous system to be restful, minimizing risk, fear and concern, and maximizing the student’s ability to rebuild the neural connections that allow for increasing joint mobility with regular practice. The method is designed to be practiced by anyone. There are 100 sequences developed and tested by the method’s creator, Francisco Kaiut, over the past 30 years. Certified teachers closely follow the method to ensure a safe approach leading to consistent results with regular practice.
About Alison Epstein
I am a Certified Kaiut Yoga Teacher and Owner of The Mobile Body Yoga Project. I have practiced various forms of yoga for over 30 years and have always embraced a fit and healthy lifestyle. When I went to my first Kaiut Yoga class in Telluride in 2018, I knew there was something keenly complex and compelling about this Kaiut Method, and couldn’t wait to learn more. After a three-day workshop with method developer, Francisco Kaiut, I was hooked.
This method just makes sense to me. Built from a foundation of kindness, on the key concept that working with the nervous system is critical to making lasting changes – in either body or mind - the Kaiut Method fits well with many things that are important to me – from mobility, strength and autoimmune health to mental health - and even to my golf game! I know this method can benefit the people around me, and want to share this incredible method with as many as possible.
I started teaching friends in my home, then expanded my teaching to a larger audience with my first “pop-up” studio at Dalton Ranch in Durango in 2022, and also teaching at the Animas Valley Grange (Durango).
I have continued my ongoing Kaiut education through online teacher certification classes, and attending a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity with Francisco and just 12 other students in São Miguel do Gostoso, Brazil. I also try to attend as many in-person opportunities to practice and learn as I can. I recently completed an online course from March-November 2024, and practiced for 2 weeks with Francisco at his Atelier studio in Sāo Paolo, Brazil in November.
I am an avid golfer, and enjoy the perfect mix of golf and Kaiut yoga, traveling and training my two dogs, Naya and Hazel.
I hope you will join me on this journey of aging a little better every day.
